Well now

I haven't posted here since January? Dang. I guess life just gets in the way, and Facebook is "easier". Not really, though. I think the real issue is wondering who's seeing this & worrying about saying the wrong things. If I was smart I'd just redirect to some innocuous page, or just take it all private. I may still do that. Right now I can't seem to muster up the initiative to do much of anything. Gah, you know life sucks when all you can think about is a Linkin Park song running through your head. The thing that I miss most about my youth is hope.

That figures

Ramona *would* wait until AFTER I left CO to find a (much older) boyfriend. I can only hope that we've taught her as well as it seems. At least he doesn't *seem* like a scumbag.

Wow

Did I really skip a month & a half? I guess not much is going on. Well, nothing I want to talk about publicly, anyway.

I *am* about to go on a "vacation". Really it's just a trip to visit Ramona. I am going for the Iron Butt 1000 on the way out, but I'm not counting on getting it on the way back. I'll take my time :)

This will hopefully also be my first trip using a hammock instead of a tent. Not 100% sure I'll have it ready in time, but hopefully I will. At least I got the thread injection finished on the hammock last night. I need to string it up, and do something about a bug net & tarp. I may end up using a generic plastic tarp, though.

I've added Latitude to this page, so you can see where I am, at least as long as I have GPS turned on :)

Not quite SSDD

I haven't done any work on the patio for the last month. We were too busy spending time with Ramona before she left. We've been going to Sardis most weekends, cooking out, swimming, etc. Now little Miss Ramona is well on her way to Colorado, and my eyes sweat too damned much.

Fun day

I spent most of today working on putting a roof on the patio. It's going slower than I'd imagined. Mostly because it's so freaking hot, I take a lot of breaks. I'm probably not doing it the "right" way, but I'm pretty sure it will work. I've got the holes dug for the two posts, and after today have that wall square & together, almost ready to put in the holes & pour sack-crete. I still need to put the 2nd corner brace on each side, drop the wall into the holes, make sure it's level, prop it up, pour the concrete. I had intended to do all that today, but it started raining before I finished. Story of my life. Now, instead of being able to put up the other two corners tomorrow & tie it all together, I have to finish this wall, and hopefully do the other two corners Monday. Yay for holidays :)

Then it'll just be a matter of waiting for the next payday to buy the rafters & the corrugated roofing. That should be relatively easy, and it'll be finished.

At that point, we can put our folding chairs out there & the next time it rains, sit & listen to the pitter-patter of the raindrops.

For the most part, I could care less about the dang roof. Oh, it will be handy to have a place to put bicycles & lawnmowers & stuff to clear out the carport so I can have a bit more room, but that's just a secondary benefit. I know how much she loves the sound of rain on a tin roof, and this is the closest I can get practically. Right now the total stands at $200 & two weekends. I figure by the time I'm done, it'll be closer to $400 & 4 weekends. A small price to pay...

Today

Today I woke up, went to work, came home, cleaned rabbit hutch, and played a video game. Now I'll shower, read, and go to sleep. Be interested.

Son of a gun!

I wish I didn't keep so much stuff in my car. I've been cleaning it out for an hour & a half now, only half done. Transmission went out, and some fool bought it for cash money (slightly less than bluebook with a *good* transmission). He's picking it up tomorrow, so I have to finish cleaning it out tonight :(

Is nothing sacred?

I am looking forward to the new Alice in Wonderland movie. I've always had a strange attraction to the story.

Too bad that once the movie hits, it's going to be a huge scenester thing.

Oh well, eventually it will fad out, and I can get cool AiW stuff cheap :)

Tiger's in the news again

I'm not condoning what he did, but I can certainly understand a lot. I don't know if I'd necessarily call it sex addiction, but if you look at the definition of addiction it fits.

One thing I will say, it *is* possible to change. Hopefully he will.

Blah

I've had a killer sinus headache for two days now. It's gotten to the point of being barely manageable.

I suppose I'm getting old. Just about the only thing I can ever think of to talk/blog about is my various aches & pains.
